Messy Art Camp!

The morning after I got back from Cabo, Art Camp started! I had been looking forward to this for weeks! My creative and super talented friend, Leslie, put this thing together and i knew it would be great and that Bennett would have so much fun!  As expected, Leslie did an amazing job and it was so so so much fun but I'm not really sure if Bennett had any fun! ha ha!

So each morning we would start with a story about some sort of art ... they were all adorable stories! But where was my son? Usually playing in the bushes next to fence, he thought it was awesome that they were taller than him, I thought it was awful because it was super hard to find him!

This shaving cream and paint project was on the first day, I helped him get it started, and he seemed to be having a good time ...

Sweet Cade who sat across from us was loving it!
But then Bennett looked at his hands!
I think this moment may have been what set the precedent  for the rest of the week! Opps!

He seemed to enjoy the projects that allowed him some sort of "Utensil" type barrier between him and the "art"
But then the fun and messy projects ... he wouldn't even go near them!
He would usually retreat to the water bucket during these "messy" times!

He even started to bring friends with him to the water buckets by the end of the week ... he's so inclusive!

Clay was a big hit ... but again no actual touching occurred!

Ball day was fabulous! He loved rolling the balls around when he didn't have to touch them!

Again, isn't Leslie so creative! Her projects were fabulous and so cute!
Loved the cars until he got a spot of paint on his hands!

Almost every day of camp, the kids got to play with the squirt bottles that had water colors in them! Bennett enjoyed shooting other people but didn't so much enjoy the return favor!

"Official" bucket play ... he was a happy man!

He LOVED this project! Mommy put three globs of paint on a picture and then he got to shoot the paint with a squirt bottle! Happy man!

This was one of the vary last projects the kids did and look at this kid go! He was the first one in there to play with a .... broom! ha ha! Oh well! I was just glad he was interested in participating!

Then on Friday night, Leslie sat up an art gallery! It was the cutest thing!

Here's the little artist, very eager and ready to show off his art to both his Grandma's that he had invited to  his first ever art show!
This was such a fun week and even though Bennett didn't do all the projects the way they were intended, I know if nothing else, he enjoyed being outside and playing with mom and dad!
Thanks Leslie for a great time!

Cabo (Day 4)

So like I may have mentioned in my previous post, our bridesmaid dresses, our custom made $250 bridesmaid dresses, were not exactly our favorite things and by the end of the wedding we all had red marks or aches and pains from the way they fit ... not the best way to spend 10 hours! (side note, no one in the wedding party is to blame for these dresses! But the dress maker will remain nameless because that would just be unkind!)

I can't remember when the conversation started, maybe during the appetizer portion of the evening, but at some point we had all commented on how we needed to have a "trash the dress" session, not with Brittany's fabulous wedding dress of course, but with our bridesmaid dresses! After looking at the ocean and seeing all the red flags and warning signs about going in the water we quickly changed our sights from the ocean to the pool at the hotel. So we told the photographers during the reception what we wanted to do and they said they would meet us at the pool at 9 the next morning.

Oh and I can I just add how rad my cousin is! She showed up to watch us and thought the whole thing was great! Way to be an awesome bride!
Notice how I look SUPER pregnant when I am only 13 weeks!
So, we made our way over to the infinity pool and had ourselves a great time!

Please note that our dresses floated behind us! So random but hilarious!

After our morning of fun, we all went back to our rooms to change and make our way to the farewell brunch for more fabulous food and views over looking the ocean!
It was so hot that day! I have no clue how they could have even posed for this picture!
After brunch and a quick packing of the bags we made our way down to the lobby and lucky for us we ran into the newly weds and were able to snag a quick picture!

We just may have sat in the Cabo airport for WAY too long due to flight delays and then had the worst experience EVER with US customs once back to LAX, but that's not really very blog worthy.

This was such a fun trip! I had no clue what to expect going into it and well, it was pretty much so fabulous that I'm kind of hoping Brittany decides to have a destination baby shower when the time comes! :)  VIVA MEXICO!

Cabo (day 3)

Day 3 is of course the day we all made this trip for ... WEDDING DAY!!!!

We started early, "Meet at 9:30 in the lobby, no need to shower just bring all your stuff" Brittany said the night before. I was thinking, "No need to shower?! What?!"  But I trusted the girl and it worked out great because I got to sleep an extra hour and had more than enough time to get ready! It may have helped that we got ready in like the nicest "locker room" I've ever seen in my life!

Our lovely dresses all hung up and waiting to torture us ... more on these beauties in day 4...

Brittany thought of everything!
Probably b/c she was in my wedding where I totally forgot about feeding my girls lunch!

So once we were all ready, it was time to get Brittany dressed and start on her 500 buttons!

Needless to say, she looked stunning!

We went out and took pictures with the photographers and had a great time despite all the wind! And then of course it was time to head to the mission!

Again ... she thought of everything!

What a lovely veil  :)
my mom did one of the readings :)

Yes, the priest really was that cute!

Brittany's side of the fam ... please note my Uncle's awesome jacket! Amazing!
From the church we went straight to cocktails and appetizers on the golf course (which just so happened to be right on the beach as well).
We had some time to kill while there so we had a good time taking pictures and playing in our "fairy bridesmaid dresses"!
(Now that I think of it, this may have been when the "trash the dress" conversations started ... but like I said, more to come on the bridesmaid dresses in day 4)

My little brothers...
bridal party heading up to the reception

And as could be expected by this point ... the reception was AMAZING too! Looked like it was out of a wedding magazine!

Kristin and Brittany with their new last names! :)
Just take a minute and read this menu ... it was unreal!
(please note that there were THREE desserts!)

At this time I would like to one again apologize to my husband for not bringing him one of the cigars this woman was rolling during the reception. Seriously, one minute she was there, the next she was gone!

Once the "real" dance party got started, Brittany made a quick exit and came back with her party dress on!

(actually, it's the same dress, she just had it altered so that the bottom part could come off for dancing! It was so cute and fun! )

After dancing til midnight and then a quick trip back to the locker rooms to make sure we got everything I surprisingly made it back to my hotel room by 12:30 ... you know, it was just a 15 hour day! But no complaining here because it was a fabulous 15 hour day!

Congratulations once again to Brittany and Javier!
What a wonderful day to celebrate your love!
