While Adam and I had originally planned on being in Bend, OR with our friends Willy and Alison for Thanksgiving, those plans changed a bit and we stayed home for a lovely Thanksgiving in Murrieta, CA. Willy and Alison ended up coming down here so we did get to see them some, but we have no pictures to prove it, so you will just have to take my word for it - and being that this is a blog - well, you have to take my word for everything, so it's no different then usual! Anyways, back to Thanksgiving! Adam and I picked up our friend Gwen and brought her with us on our Thanksgiving adventure so that was really fun to have her along with us. Our first stop was the Zanin house. We were only there for about 30 minutes but it was very nice to see Katie and all her family (Tom was doing something on Ebay the whole time we where there so we didn't really see him, but for a second as we were leaving). Due to the fact that Katie and I both looked awesome in our new green dresses we felt it appropriate to take a picture! (and can I just say how much I love my new dress! I got it for $20 at Anthropology, originally $170!!!! Heck Yeah!) After leaving the Zanin house Adam, Gwen and I made it to my parents' house and proceeded to have a great time with the 2nd annual Adam and Sarah Pilgrim Presents which are awarded to all people participating in Thanksgiving through a series of games and competitions as well as some secret games that only Adam and I knew about (for example: The first person to get up for seconds wins a prize or the first person to yell at the dog) that we could award to people when ever appropriate. All of the Pilgrim Presents are purchaced at the 99 cent store. One of the fabulous prizes Adam and I purchased was a do-rag as modeled below by Aaron (he put tin foil on his teeth for a more "authentic" look)!
Here are just a few other random pictures from the day of the family dog, Tony, all my brothers on the sofa as we gathered for a family viewing of the new season of Project Runway, and Adam and I, just because this is our blog thus we get to have pictures of ourselves on here!

Party Weekend!
No we did not adopt a puppy!
This picture is actually of my boss's dog, Mini. We house sat for her this weekend (well, it started on thursday actually). Adam and I had fun watching movies and I invited a few ladies over friday night for a movie and Adam made us all an awesome dinner! On Saturday, Adam spent his day at the church while I recovered from my surgery! Okay, not really surgery, but I did have a mole removed on friday and it was very stressful for me(but she was very brave), especially when the doctor said, "I'm going to cauterize your head now to stop the bleeding!" Anyways, back to Saturday... Saturday evening we went to a wedding in Escondido. The bride is a girl I grew up with, so I have known their family for as long as I can remember. It was really nice, but Adam couldn't really eat anything (darn milk allergy!) so he was a little hungry!
Our last party of the weekend was sunday - Raul and Shayne's baby shower! It was a couple's shower, so Adam was so happy to be there with me! (ha ha ha) but all in all there were some good/gross games and some really yummy cake. And I think baby Gunnar is set up with some very cute toys and clothes for a while!

Our Second House Guest!
Adam and I were so thrilled to have the lovely Miss Katie Hutcheson stay with us on tuesday night! Katie works for the Red Cross in Knoxville, TN and ended up in San Bernardino working with all the fire relief over there. Katie comment about San Bernardino... "I didn't know that there were actual red-necks in California!" (Here is Katie trying a "shot" of Rice milk and Almond milk because she was curious about the difference.)For those of you who have no clue who this girl is and why I'm devoting a blog to her, let me explain. Katie was one of the 5/4 (depending on what semester it was) girls I lived with in St. Petersburg, Russia. She was our "team leader" because she had taught in Kazakhstan the year before. She is a very sweet girl who loves people so much and I was so pleased to have been able to spend a year with her and Claire and Amanda (and Alison, for the first half of the year). Just for old time sake, here's a picture of us girls at the Summer Palace just outside the city of St. Petersburg.
(Katie, Amanda, Alison, Me and Claire)
One of our favorite/most ridiculous things about St. Petersburg was the strange custom couples had of making out on their way down into the Metro (Subway). St. Petersburg is a city built on rivers and canals thus the Metro must be far enough underground to avoid said waterways. All that being said, you really, truly have a good 4 to 5 minute ride down to the platform and what else do you have to do?
That being said, we kind of just started saying that "the Metro is for lovers" and always joked about make shirts that said as much. Well, Katie's boyfriend Brian actually made them and Katie brought me mine when she came to stay with us on tuesday! Needless to say, I was very excited to see our dream become a reality! (even if the "Russian" is not correct!)Tuesday, November 6, 2007
