Much more contemplative than when he turned one.
I mean I even went and read his traumatic birth story and sat and dwelled on it for a while.
I feel like something changed.
I mean besides the fact that his clothes are no longer measured in months, something else has changes.
I feel like he's a MAN now.
I think this feeling I have is the same feeling that spurred on Bennett's up coming dedication.
He's stepping into his own.
By no means do I think I'm done parenting him but it's time, and I think he's ready.
Ready to start learning.
I know he's been learning since the day he was born (heck, even before then too!) but it's time for learning.
Learning about God and what it means to worship Him.
Learning about language and the effect words have.
Learning about social interactions and how to give.
Learning about service and what it looks like help others.
I know it sounds like a lot for a two year old (it sounds like a lot for me) but it's just the sense I have.
A sense that it's time to "Step it up boy!"
I have no clue what this will look like or how it will play out in life
I have no curriculum
I have no plans
I just have a sense that something has changed and it's time for my B-boy to step up.
All that said...
We had a fabulous time celebrating on Tuesday!
Yes, I made his shirt |
Showing two fingers for his age... |
Lucky for Bennett his birthday was on a Tuesday, thus making it "Taco Tuesday"! So we had dinner at Carnitas Express in Murrieta with some of our family (both by blood and by heart)
After dinner we came back to our place for pear pie and presents
If you missed the video of us singing to Bennett TWICE make sure to scroll down to the last post, it is fantastic! I love how he waited for us to start singing for him again! He cracks me up!
Last year people wrote cards for B's upcoming birthdays, here's his first one! |

Gun #2 |
As you my have noticed, there were some guns involved in Bennett's gifts... mayhem ensued
Bed time came quickly, we were all exhausted from such a fun, fun day!
