Earth Day at the Elwer's

It takes a lot out of a man to save the earth!

Bennett is 14 months today! He needs to slow down - it is going way too fast!

And here's "Planty" too! 

She is growing very well and we are excited to see the new fruit of her growth! 

Boy Stuff!

This boy loves the giant ball Hillary and Burke gave him for his birthday!

This little frog toy, besides being super cute, makes me so happy. It was the one and only toy Adam and I bought for "the baby" while I was pregnant. It makes my heart smile to watch how much he loves it!

Easter

"Jesus is Alive!"

I would love to tell you that the above quote is what made my son look so happy ... however, in reality, it was my mom's dog, Tony who got such a response out of my son!Oh, well, maybe next year...

Easter this year was very lovely for the Elwers. 

(Yes, this was the best picture we got... you would be amazed at the others)

We didn't go to sunrise service, but our church did do the 9:30 service outside too. I really liked church outside, it's like you are worshiping God right along with his creation.

Bennett liked sitting in (standing on, climbing up....) the white chairs and playing in the grass with Andrea (who was sitting next to us)

After church as we were talking with some friends when Debbie walked by. I said "Hello" and then Adam and Mary Beth said "Wait, wait, wait, you two are dressed identically!" 

Neither one of us noticed! What do you think? 

Funny huh? Good thing I like her so much!

We stopped by my parent's house on the way home to get the meat to put in our oven (we all ate at our house so Bennett could nap in his own bed) and tried to get a picture of Bennett next to the plant my brothers and I took pictures next to as a kids. (Someone needed a nap!)

If you haven't noticed already I would just like to highlight my son's super cute Easter Outfit!

I got it at All About Kidz for $10 - yep, all three Janie and Jack pieces for $10!!!

My husband (the crafty master that he is) dyed the eggs this year after (as usual) looking at our neighbor's Martha Stewart Living before giving it to her!Funny thing is, we didn't hunt for them or even eat them, they were just the centerpiece.

After dinner we all went on a walk down Fig street. 

This is the closest thing we got to a family picture from the day - I really need to get better at taking family pictures!

Members!

It's true,  we became members of the 

Zoological Society of San Diego! 

(aka we got passes to the Zoo and Wild Animal Park because my parents bought them for Bennett's Birthday!)

We made our first trip to the park with some of our dearest friends, The Seltons. We had such a great day!

Men with strollers - we haven't even left the parking lot and they are already fighting with them!

We went to the bird show first, Bennett had no clue what was going on, but Jake loved it! 

And then after such a structured beginning of our time was basically just wondered around the park following the blue dots on the map we got when we came in the park (the blue dots make for a great day)

We had a little food break / let the kids out to run around break and what did they want to do - climb back in the strollers! 

For being a year apart, Bennett and Jake do really well together! 

(It helps that Jake is such a sweet boy too!)

We had a great view of the Lions!

We made it to this look out place and just watched all the different animals for a long time, they were amazing!

And took a few family pictures before we called it a day

(Bennett is sporting the the shirt we got him about 5 min prior to the picture. He used his birthday money to get it! He's already such a good budget-er)

Pizza Night!

At the beginning of the school year Adam received a "Smart Card" from his school. It gives us discounts around town and what not. Well one of the coupons that came with it was for a free Medium pizza from TJ's pizza as long as you "dined in". And being that is was spring break at the time we decided to go ahead and try the place out.

We ordered a salad along with our pizza and really enjoyed it all!

After dinner Adam talked me into playing a game of air hockey. We pulled Bennett over in the high chair and Adam and I started the entertainment!

Bennett laughed and clapped the whole time we were playing! It was really funny!

I won the first game!

Adam won the second!

Then after air hockey we let Bennett "play" a race car game! He was loving it!

All in all, we had an excellent night of family fun for under $15 (granted the pizza was free). We would totally recommend TJ's and think that you all should give it a try too!

Spring Break Fun!

We had a great time having Adam home for two weeks! (well, when he wasn't working... we won't bring that up!) Here's some random pictures from before and during spring break that I meant to post but just didn't due to spring break fun/craziness!

First time eating at a table in a big person chair - he did pretty good!

We finally got the two birthday swings hung up!

Bennett has now figured out how to get the back yard all on his own. We're thinking he likes it back there! 

 Bennett has become much more in to his toys, here is is using his alligator xylophone as a piano bench

And he now wants to take his mower and "push car toy thingy" everywhere he goes, all.the.time!

We had a fun family breakfast out at The Mill (Yay for buy one get one free breakfast coupons!) I sort of forgot to take a picture until just before we were leaving and Bennett was showing off his "Look how cool I am standing on the edge of the high chair" face - he makes me laugh!

Lastly, the other night we got the bumbo out for Clara to sit in and eat her dinner, well Bennett wanted to play with it and became rather angry when he realized he was stuck a few minutes later.

But he went back for more after dinner, just decided to take a different approach. 

We did more than just take pictures of Bennett around the house over spring break.
