New Computer!

We have been in GREAT need of a computer for a really long time!
Adam's old Mac laptop was 9 years old and mine was 6 years old. We are committed to Mac's and love them ... I mean who else would keep their computers that long?!
That is unless you are super poor ... which would also be us.
So, that being said, in his former (unmarried) life, my husband liked to go out and buy random musical instruments, one of which was a Key-tar he bought for $500 about 5 years ago.

Well that puppy just sold on ebay for a whole lot more than $500 and we were able to get a new iMac! (well, "new" is a relative term here, we bought it refurbished from Apple because it's a better value AND you can get apple care with it, so basically it's good as new and you get a smoke'n deal on it)

The box came Wednesday when I was laying Bennett down for his nap, so I waited until Adam got home so he could open it himself!
 Gotta love their simple packaging...
 Taking off the plastic
 Watching the "Welcome Video"

Totally engrossed in his new toy
(really this is the family's new computer ... but this is my first time on it and we've had it for 5 days)

Where has the time gone...

So if there is anyone still reading this, you may remember I mentioned some computer issues and me having a Christmas job... well, those two things came together and they got the best of me and thus the blog sort of died.

But let's be honest, blogging is far less important than these two:
But nonetheless, blogging is fun and thus I will continue!

Bennett has been learning and changing so much!
The change that comes to mind right now is this:
Yes, he's learned that he has power of this clothes.
Both to remove and to put on ... I'm staying busy.

SOooooo, here's a brief
not even boxer briefs, just plain 'ol tighty whitey breifs
over view of December:

Advent of course occurred
 as did Hanukkah! Oy Vey!

My brother Aaron made it out from the frozen tundra of Wyoming for a visit

We went to Christmas Eve service
check out the cute cello player

We got dressed up in Christmas PJ's and went and looked at lights!

We opened presents...
... both store bought
... and homemade!
(it's a jewelry holder)
and we had tons of fun doing all of it!
again with the no clothes... where are that kids parents?

Adam and I worked on this project together:
(We are for hire ... no joke)

We had to say good bye to our good friends the Durham's who moved to Texas

Bennett figured out where the advent candy is stored
... and was asking for it non stop!

Basically, we had a very happy Christmas and New Years and we hope that you all did too!
Love,
the Elwers

PS. this picture is just too good to pass up
We were having a nice family lunch at Panera in San Marcos when we looked over to find this little weirdo next to us!

Issues

So, we got a new computer a couple weeks ago (well, new to us) and we were super excited and thankful.

But there have been a few issues... and I have not taken any pictures off my camera (praise the Lord for my 4gb card!) so if there is a picture, it's from my cell phone...sorry.
There are those who use their cell phones all the time and their pictures are so cute, me however...

But we have been doing well, thanks for asking.

Bennett's word count is growing by the day. He is the cutest little talker I ever did see!
I both love it and hate it, "babies" don't talk, thus I am a little sad.

We went to the funnest Fall Party and Craft Fair at our church last week (you would just love those pictures). Adam and my items at the craft fair didn't really sell, but we did brake even for what we spent on supplies so we are thankful for that ... but now, what to do with all this stuff?!
(Call me if you need an adventure stick or any baby shower gifts!)

We had a great time seeing some of our old friends a couple weeks ago! They live in our first apartment and it was fun to go and see how they have interpreted the space they have. (It looks the best I have ever seen it! Sorry Justin and Elisha, we still love you!)

We voted!

My friend Becky came down from Oregon to see her sister's play in LA and I got to see her for an afternoon. That was a lovely day, I really like her!

We went to the Murrieta Veteran's day parade again this year and had a great time!

Oh and I met with my Book Club to discuss the most fascinating book. If you've ever thought Russian communism is slightly interesting (in a twisted sort of way, not like you think it's a good idea) you will love this book!

Other than that, Bennett and I got a cold, but we are felling much better now, again, thanks for asking!

I hope to be back on the "blog wagon" soon, starting work in a week and a half... we'll see how it goes!

Autumn Beauty

We went to the most lovely wedding this last weekend!
It was everything autumn and I so so so enjoyed it!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Kellen and Samantha Holcomb

This wedding was the first wedding that ever made me feel old! Sam was in the youth group when I got back from Russia and was dating Adam ... 4 years ago! Can you believe it's been 4 years - weird! Anyways, we love Sam (and her family) and were every blessed to be able to celebrate her picture perfect day with her!

I thought her veil was just lovely!
I think I've seen it somewhere before :)

The reception was a great time to celebrate with friends
and eat really, really yummy food!
I was loving the pumpkins everywhere! Everything looked so great!
Look at how cute and fun my husband is
(I'm not in this picture because I wasn't being as fun as he was)
... but I got over it and had some fun too!

Jack

Bennett's special treat at his Grammy's doesn't include sugar or new toys,
it just takes up a little bit of room on Grammy's DVR.

Have you seen Jack's Big Music Show?
(Thank you Shayne for introducing me to it when Gunnar was watching it!)
It's adorable
and so is my son as he dances to the opening song!
He can't get enough!
and I can't get enough of that little pony dance he does!

Saturday Morning

I was doing dishes
Adam was grading Chemistry tests
and Bennett was...
...Yeah... we don't know either!
notice the upside down pacifier that he NEVER uses to sleep with

I went in to say hello and he had me sit down next to him
 ... but I guess I wasn't doing it right,
He soon got up and drug Adam into his room to sit down.

Upon Adam taking his seat, Bennett handed out the pacifiers!

Once they both had their feet up,  Bennett started to point out the half finished paintings on his wall, with commentary on each painting such as, "Dah, Dah, Dah, Dah"
At this point we knew for sure our son was a genius!
He had set up an art exhibit in his room!

But as time continued Bennett switched chairs and then started moving his stuffed animals around too.
  What's with the pacifiers?
Eventually they all ended up in their correct seats

And then Bennett had to give them all kisses
He's a very kind friend!

The art show was concluded with the throwing of the remaining stuffed animals at Mommy and then seeing who could balance those same stuffed animals on their heads.

Okay so, maybe he's not a genius,
but he sure does make our Saturday mornings a whole lot more interesting than watching cartoons (or dare I say, Saved by the Bell)!
