Fun Weekend!

Friday marked 25 weeks of pregnancy:

Friday also was a very busy day! First I had a Doctor's thing where they made me drink a bottle of red 40 - not fun. Then I came home and had 3 ladies over for tea (no pictures, but very fun!) Then my friend Ryan came over! And then 3 hours later, my friend Hillary came to join us too! I met Ryan and Hillary through Teach Overseas. They were in my former Soviet Union group but we were not any where near each other the whole year. But we have remained in contact and when Ryan had to come to California for work, I invited him over instantly! Hillary recently moved to LA from her hometown of Portland and despite the fact we love each other we never seem to actually see each other - but Ryan was a good enough excuse for us to get together!

Here's Adam and Ryan making our Asian dinner feast from scratch! They started cooking shortly after Hillary left her home and they didn't finish until she arrived - it was a LONG drive and a fabulous dinner!

Here's a group shot while playing Quiddler - we had such a good time hanging out with them! (It also makes me happy when Adam likes my friends I force upon him!)

On Saturday we hung around the house and then went to Victoria Garden's with my mom and dad and brother. We all went to the Spaghetti Factory for dinner and my brother took this picture of us in the lobby. Sad thing is, I didn't realize how horrible we looked when we left the house - I actually thought I looked cute, so much for that idea!
Then on Sunday, Adam and I went to Disneyland for a short little trip after church. We went on a few rides and meet up with the lovely Kelly who it is always so nice to see!

Possibly the worst picture taken at Disneyland - ever!

The camera was too slow to catch our pennies being tossed - we just look confused here!

After Disneyland Adam picked me a cute little rose that smelled wonderful! We drove around for a while looking for food and finally decided on Red Robin - very romantic! But we got what we wanted (Hamburgers and fries) and we had a really nice time together - so all in all, it was a nice, simple date!

We both feel asleep super quick last night (our weekend might have been a little too full) the tired we felt was a good tired that had come to us through great times of relationship with people we love - what more could you want?!

6 months pregnant today!

Can you believe it?! I honestly didn't realize I was that far along! I mean I knew I was 24 weeks today and all, but then when I went online to see what 24 weeks translates into months I found out today is 6 months! I mean any one who can do math can tell you: 4 week in a month, 24 weeks pregnant - ta da - 6 months! I however needed the Internet to tell me that - oh well, we'll call it pregnancy brain!

So, here's a picture of myself I just took (due the wonders of the time delay button). An officially 6 month pregnant woman - who I think is look'n pretty good!

So far in October

Sorry for the lack of updates, we don't actually have a whole lot to report. Adam finished his first ever parent-teacher conferences last week and I know he is more than happy to have those done with. Here's a few pictures so you can see our cute faces!

Here's a picture of me at 22 weeks and 2 days (October 5) after church.

Last Thursday, October 9, we had some of Adam's family over for dinner. Two of Adam's mom's sisters came out for a week long visit to California (one lives in Georgia, the other in Ohio). We had a very lovely evening hosting them. The below picture is of Adam and I cutting up veggies for our baked potato bar dinner!

This last picture was taken just this last Saturday, the 11th, while Adam was starting his latest project of building the baby a changing table. This is just the beginning frame work, but it needed to be documented nonetheless. I love that he's building stuff that could be in our family for years to come!

HALF WAY DONE!

So this last weekend I found myself in Pasadena just cruising the streets with some girlfriends. As we were walking back to the car we walked by this area (which just so happens to lead to some of the best gelato outside of Italy) and one of the girls said - "Oh that would be such a neat place to take pictures - who wants me to take their picture?!" No one really needed their picture taken, but then I remembered that, it being Friday, meant that I was officially 20 weeks pregnant - which equals half way done! So I was the lucky recipient of a mini photo shoot of my mini belly!

By the way, I can feel the baby moving now, it feels like bubbles and flutters!

Slumber Party!!!

It's true, I'm 27 years old and I invited my 6 best 10-12 year old friends over for a slumber party - and we had a super fun time! This group of girls and I have been doing a Bible study this summer and we needed to have a party - so why not a slumber party?! It was actually a great motivator to get Adam and I totally unpacked and all our stuff moved in because we knew we had this little party coming! Adam of course did not stay with us, he slept over next door and got a full nights sleep! So, here's a few pictures of the fun things the girls did with gummy bears as well as a group portrait after we had sung and danced our way through High School Musical 2 and then another in the morning, playing on the tire swing in our PJ's.

So, now for what you were expecting this blog to be about - the baby. We had another ultra sound on friday and everything was great, here's a few pictures:

Baby face - look at that big, smart brain!

Baby feet - already looking a little long!

This one is a little harder to see but I love it! On the right you have the top of baby's head and then "above" (or to the left in the case of this picture) are the arms stretched out and crossed. Basically this is a picture of the baby "chill'n" - let's pray that relaxed attitude continues on!

Lastly, here's a picture to show my belly at 19 weeks - we were at a 25th anniversary party and who better to take a picture with than the bride and groom!

18 weeks and counting

So before I was pregnant, I always thought one was pregnant for 9 months. I come to find out now that one is pregnant for 40 weeks - so actually 9 to 10 months depending on what part of the year you are pregnant for - so who started this 9 month lie?! Anyways, I hit 18 weeks on friday and from a quick google image search found this picture of a baby at 18 weeks - so, this is what's in me right now - totally amazing huh?!

And for what I look like on the outside right now - here's a picture with my roommate from Russia, Amanda who came for a visit this weekend (she was very happy I let her touch my belly) and then here is also a picture of me and my dad comparing bellies at his birthday dinner (I think he wins for biggest belly still!)

We have another ultrasound on friday so hopefully Adam will make another video to show you all the highlights - I'll try not to pick such an emotional song for this video!

Sorry about the lack of updating, but the move and Adam's new job has been a lot to handle and blogging went to the wayside - sorry :)

So, an update thru pictures:

Here's a picture my friend Erica took of Adam and I at Jeff and Katy's wedding on Aug. 8. (I blogged about their wedding last time, but I just got this picture from Erica and thought it was worth sharing)
On Friday, Aug. 15, Adam and I went to my friend Katie's art show that she organized (a feat in and of its self). She had a number of artist from her church display there art work and it was a really great evening! I was very proud of her hard work to create such an awesome evening! It was also the day I hit 15 weeks in the pregnancy, thus the picture with Katie next to one of her paintings.

Here's a picture of Mr. Elwer before he left for his 3rd day of teaching ( I slept thru his first two departures - opps).

On monday the 18th I got another part of my birthday present from my mom (I love birthday's that go on for months). She took Katie and I to tea at the Huntington Library and then bought us both fancy tea for our "party favors". It was a super fun day filled with a long walk (maybe a little too long for a pregnant lady) thru the gardens and lots of amazing finger sandwiches!!!! Thanks Mom for a fantastic birthday present!

We did officially move on Aug. 23 with the help of some fantastic friends from church! Amazingly, we started at our old house at 8am and were totally moved in and done and eating lunch at our new house by noon!!!! Here's Erin and Evangeline being out TV weather women before the TV was put into place, they later also put on a puppet show too! :)

After the afternoon of moving we took quick showers and took off to our friend's house to meet their new son, Caleb James Miller! Caleb was born to Colin and Kailey on July 27 and is a sweet little man - we were very glad to meet him and welcome him into the world!

Finally - after a long summer of our Disneyland passes being blocked out, we were free to go again! This last Monday, Labor Day, Adam, my brother Brian and I took off to D-land to meet our friend Kelly for a day of fun! It was actually an awesome day to go because the park was not crowded at all, it was just like a normal Monday at the Magic Kingdom!!! (We also met up with our friends, Dan and Sue, for a great lunch and show at the Golden Horseshoe, but we have no pictures from that.)
One thing that was new, was the Toy Story! It was super fun and we very much enjoyed shooting all the 3D objects!
Also, as can be expected, I was limited on which rides I could go on - but it's okay - I just became the personal photographer and "stuff" holder, so let me know if I can perform this task for you anytime in the near future, all I require is snacks like Mickey Mouse shaped pretzels and churro's!!! :)

So kids, that's about it for now, hopefully the updates will be more regular now that we are more in the grove at our new place and new job and new energy levels!

Busy, busy, busy...

Have you ever noticed that even if you are not busy, you feel busy if you don't actually make it to your home and your bad - well, it's true for us for the last week and a half! We have been house sitting nonstop since August 1 and while both houses have been awesome (mini vacations in and of themselves) Adam and I are both very much ready to go home and sleep in our own bed!

The first place we house sat for had a brand new puppy and two older dogs. The older dogs figured out that if they got up on the sofa with Adam that the puppy could not get up there and bother them - here's Adam on the sofa with Johnny who seemed rather distraught.
The next house we have been at is the "Chateau De Paix" in Lake Elsinore. It was our first stay at the inn and there were many lovely features to be enjoyed. My personal favorites were the view and the awesome bathroom!
But the Chateau De Paix does have one other item of cuteness, here she is playing with Adam and then us taking her on her evening walk/bathroom trip before bed time.

Last Friday, we went to Jeff and Katy's wedding - it was lovely!

I loved my gift wrapping job - so Adam took a picture of me with the box - I know, kind of lame, but I was really proud, and being that this piece of art is to give away, I needed to remember it!

Then Saturday, Adam and I went to hang out with my family in Carlsbad for the afternoon and after lunch here is where we ended up "watching" the Olympics- Casey wanted to go to the beach - oh well.

So, we are going home today - YAY!!! But we are not done with the craziness - we are moving in a week and a half - so we must pack - lots and lots of boxes. Please pray for our sanity!

Also, today is Adam's first day of teaching at Cornerstone - we will see how it went when he gets home today!

A Wonderful San Diego Weekend!

Well, we didn't actually go down and stay there or anything, but we did some super fun stuff in the greatest city on earth!

Sunday: We left church as soon as Gary said "let's pray" so that we wouldn't get stuck in a crowd of people because we had to be in downtown by 12:30'ish because our show was at 1. You see, Adam, being the wonderful husband that he is, got us tickets to see Phantom of the Opera for my birthday!!!! YAY!!! So, having had the sound track since high school (I think) I was totally excited to go and see it and sing along, of course!
Well, so, I knew all the songs, but actually seeing it on stage made the songs far more dark and creepy and kind of instilled a new fear of mirrors into me, but nonetheless - IT WAS AMAZING!!! So, afterwords, we went and had an amazing dinner at the Prado in Balboa Park and actually watched two weddings during our 3 hours dinner (They were moving those couples right along) but since the waitress asked if we were celebrating anything, we gave her the story that we were celebrating my birthday, but that it was a month ago... but she didn't care, she still brought us an awesome sorbet dessert!
Monday: We met up with our friends, Justin and Elisha and took the long drive back down the Balboa Park for a picnic and organ concert in the park. We had a great dinner of pasta salad and brownies and then played our favorite card game, hand and foot (or hands and feet, or foot and mouth). The music was fabulous, as usual, the guy who was playing last night was only 19 and we were very impressed! During his second to last song, Justin and I just had to get up and dance along! Enjoy our weirdness!

So, we had a great time in San Diego, too bad we don't live closer, but it's nice for little getaways like these two wonderful adventures!
